Parks district work across Greenway
The recreation district keeps a steady rotation of projects in Greenway, from playground replacements and path resurfacing to bridge decking over the creek. Crews on a Greenway park job usually work out of a gravel staging area near a trailhead, and a standard unit with a handwashing station goes in at that staging point rather than out on the turf. Because Greenway path work moves along the alignment week by week, we relocate the unit on the service visit instead of leaving crews a long walk back.
Volunteer planting days in Greenway are the other parks pattern, with fifty or more people out for a single Saturday morning. For those we drop two standard units and a handwashing station at the Greenway trailhead lot on Friday and collect them the following week.
Fanno Creek flooding and Greenway placement
Fanno Creek runs the length of Greenway and it comes up fast, spilling across the lower meadow several times each winter. Nothing goes on the Greenway floodplain between late fall and spring, and even in summer we keep units up on the paved path edge or the parking apron. A unit left low in Greenway during a December rain event can float, tip and become somebody else's problem downstream.
The wetland soils through Greenway are peaty and slow to drain, so even a dry-looking margin will rut under a loaded truck. We stick to the asphalt lot and the firm shoulders when placing Greenway units, which also keeps the service route short.
Roadwork, offices and events around Greenway
Scholls Ferry Road and Hall Boulevard bracket Greenway, and utility and paving contractors on both corridors take units for the length of a closure. Those Greenway roadwork orders move nightly in some phases, so we settle a drop point that stays reachable even when the lane pattern changes.
The office buildings on the Greenway edge run their own smaller jobs, mostly parking lot resealing, roof replacement and landscape rebuilds in the dry season. A single unit behind the building covers most of them, and Greenway tenants rarely see it from the entrance at all.
